Ormai lo sapete quasi tutti: siamo nati come band di strada, dove abbiamo imparato a fare scempio degli strumenti acustici per ottenere la stessa intensità e lo stesso casino che si ottiene da quelli elettrici. Il “Busking Tour” si propone di sottolineare la nostra urgenza folk senza sacrificare un briciolo d’energia, anzi. I primi tre mesi di tour elettrico nei grandi club sono stati fantastici e ci hanno regalato molto, ci sembra ora giusto girovagare per due mesi in altri ambiti: dai locali fuori dalle rotte dei grandi tour ai teatri di provincia, dai club piccoli ma storici delle grandi città, alla passione di piccole associazioni che fanno la cultura del nostro territorio. Uno zoom viscerale fin sulle rughe e le scarpe di marca degli ultimi degli ultimi, coloro che per scelta, per forza o per vocazione la vita la subiscono e basta: i nati per subire. Un po’ tutti gli altri, ma un po’ tutti noi. Perché la questione non è se Dio esiste o meno, ma se esistiamo noi ed in che misura. Piccole preghiere pagane, fotografie impietose, lacrime da coccodrillo, strade che non portano a nulla, speranze e sogni infranti presi a colpi di tosse e vino scadente, risate amare, cattivi che generano altri cattivi e via così, a spasso nella voglia di vivere (e morire) nonostante tutto. Musicalmente questo album è esattamente quello che volevamo fare, senza riuscirci pienamente, con Andate Tutti Affanculo. Trascinare per i capelli il cantautorato italiano nel rock trasversale che adoriamo da sempre e che abbiamo fatto nostro negli anni.
By now you nearly all know: we originate as a street band, and during the experience we have learnt to humiliate our acoustic instruments, forcing the same intensity and amps one generally expects from electric ones. Our ‘Busking Tour’ aims at stressing our Folk background, without giving up one iota of energy, in fact … The initial 3 months of gigs in bigger clubs have been fantastic, and we have much appreciated the experience. Now think it is right to spend the next 2 months in other locations, ranging from venues far from the usual bigger tour circuits, to small theatres in remote provinces, from tiny cult clubs in big cities to the venues of local Associations who better represent the culture of our own territories. We want to zoom deeply into the wrinkles, into the famous brands of our humblest spectators’ shoes, exploring the lives of those who by choice, by force, by vocation, are forced to undergo life’s rules. The underdogs. Part of whom we are. Because the question is not if God does exist or not, it is whether we exist and how. Small pagan prayers, uncharitable photos, crocodile’s tears, roads leading nowhere, lost dreams, lost hope, shredded by coughing and cheap wine, cruel bitter laughing, the bad who generate the worse, … and so forth, meandering forth wanting to live (and to die) despite it all. This new album ‘Andate Tutti Affanculo’ represents all we wanted to do, without being completely successful. Drag Italian songwriting-singing by its hair, towards the transversal rock tones we adore and which we have played for so long.
